Unique Fred Fowle Disco Paybox Console
Unique item of fairground art. Decorated wood surround structure for a mobile disco console unit, made to look like a ride paybox, painted in traditional fairground style by Fred Fowle, 'The Master'. This is believed to be the only large item Fred ever painted that was not actually for use on a fairground, he never accepted commissions to do other work, he didn’t have time! Mark Gill, his apprentice now living in Australia, has confirmed that, as far as he knows, this is the only non fairground item Fred Fowle ever painted! It has been in dry store for forty years and kept covered so the colours are still bright and vibrant and it looks like it was painted yesterday! It is signed by Fred Fowle on the lower front. This piece comes with the added provenance of the original hand written (by Fred) and signed invoice on company headed paper dated 11/11/1978. The unit is fitted with lamp holders divided in to four separate channels to facilitate 'running lights' and comes complete with the original four channel light control unit, fully working and tested. The whole unit folds flat for easy transportation. Folded for transporting it measures: 42ins Wide x 32.5ins High x 4ins Deep. Size erected / opened:
Size approx: 42 inches (106.7 cm) Wide  by 65 inches (165.1 cm) High  by 21 inches (53.3 cm) Deep
